Houston Achievement Place’s Project CLASS teaches building block social skills to children ages 3-12. A growing national consensus is forming around something we have known since we began Project CLASS in 1997: children need to learn more than just academics in school to be successful. The New York Times article linked below describes what many term “Character Education” – teaching life skills to students so they can be successful inside of the classroom and out. We know that schools that have implemented Project CLASS have seen a decrease in discipline referrals and an increase in learning time – proof that teaching building block social skills helps kids become more successful!

Over the course of the next year and a half, Duckworth worked with Levin and Randolph to turn the list of seven strengths into a two-page evaluation, a questionnaire that could be completed by teachers or parents, or by students themselves.
